A WOMAN A MONTH

18 March 2021

With the raising concerned with the deteriorating humanitarian situation of Syrian Refugees and decreasing amounts of funding. On the 10th Year memorial of the Syrian Crisis, 5,684,010 are still refugees in neighboring such as Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, and Jordan. The vast majority of which live in urban areas, with around only 8 per cent of the Syrian refugee population is accommodated in refugee camps.

In Lebanon, life is a daily struggle for more than a million Syrian refugee, who have little or no financial resources. Around 70% live below the poverty line. There are no formal refugee camps and as a result, Syrians are scattered throughout more than 2,100 urban and rural settlements and locations, often sharing small basic lodgings with other refugee families in overcrowded conditions. Meanwhile in Jordan, over 655,000 men, women and children are currently trapped in exile with approximately 80% of them live outside camps. Many have arrived with limited means to cover even their basic needs, and those who could at first, rely on savings or support from host families are now

increasingly in need of help as their savings have depleted. It is estimated that 93% of refugees in Jordan live below the poverty line. But although life in exile can be difficult, for Syrians still at home is even harder.

There are 6617 of widowed and orphaned refugee families in Lebanon and Jordan, being considered the most vulnerable refuges families. With our initiative (A WOMAN A MONTH) we can support those widows with cash assistance who are at risk of being unable to even buy their basic nutritional needs.

Withe every purchase you make from THHABA in the month of March, we will , on your behalf, support a widow in need for basic necessities for a whole month. Because we care, and we know you do as well.
